Welcome to Carolina Explorer Fishing Charters and Guide Service. The New Carolina Explorer is a 2007 24ft Mako bay boat with a 225hp Murcury 4-stroke engine, Minn-Kota trolling motor, and all USCG safety gear.

Captain Robert Schoonmaker is a full time charter captain and fishing guide. He takes pride in making his clients comfortable and putting them on fish. You can cast, troll, or bottomfish using artificial lures and natural baits on your fishing charter.

The goal of every fishing charter is to have a great time and put great tasting fish in your cooler. If you prefer to catch and release, that is o.k. too! Carolina Beach Offshore Fishing Charters take place 5 miles to 15 miles off the coast of Carolina beach, Wrightsville beach, Topsail beach, and Southport. There are a variety of wrecks, ledges and rock piles just offshore of Carolina Beach and Wrightsville Beach. We can troll, bottom fish, or cast to a variety of fish using light or heavy tackle during your Carolina Beach fishing charter. We use mostly dead or live baits and when conditions are right, cast artificial lures. This Carolina Beach NC offshore fishing charter and Wrightsville Beach offshore fishing charter is only available for a 6, 7, or 8 hour fishing charter.

March 2008 Carolina Explorer Fishing Report Spring fishing is just around the corner. If you are thinking about a spring carolina beach fishing charter, now is the time to start planning your trips.

Bluefish and Bonito will be here soon. Right now we are catching lots of whiting, speckled trout, and red drum. The trout and redfish fishing has improved with the warmer weather. Most of the fish have been caught on artificial lures and live shrimp. I have been pulling the shrimp net as part of the charter and everyone loves catching shrimp. The best part is using them for bait.

On our Coastal Carolina Beach Fishing charters we have been having a blast catching lots of blacksea bass and Sharks. The Spiney sharks are here in great numbers. These sharks are 4 to 10 pounds and hard fighters on the light tackle. They are great to eat grilled or fried. All of this action takes place just a few miles off the Carolina beach coast.
